Petra knows a lot about organization – as well as working as an administrator for many years, she also ran her own wedding business. So working with people through stressful (though exciting) times in their lives comes naturally to her.
‘Moving country is a little like getting married’, she tells us. ‘As well as a central change in your life, you have to create a raft of new relationships arising from your new circumstances.’ Petra’s reassuring personality has helped many people through these changes.
She also worked previously in various administrative roles across several corporate sectors – insurance, the car industry, media. In her spare time, one of her passions has been her bearded collies and she is currently the Vice-President of the Carolina’s Bearded Collie Club.
Travelling through America is also something she enjoys doing. ‘Every state within the USA is like a little country, with its own set of rules, lifestyle and history. America might look a lot like the other Western countries we have travelled to and seen so much about on TV. Actually living here according to these rules, discovering the lifestyle and getting to know its history, is the biggest and most interesting challenge’.
